One Big Heart is a place of referral by physio’s, chiro’s, osteo’s and GP’s for our proven track record of helping people overcome injury and stay fixed once the discomfort is gone. We work with ankles, knee’s, shoulders, hips and even help people with bulging disc’s and fractured spines.
Perhaps you don’t have a diagnosed injury but experience neck pain, back pain or even headaches and migraine. Many of our students report within the first month of yoga, such pains that they have experience for up to 20 years have reduced by at least half and frequency of pain becomes weekly or monthly instead of daily.
Our founder was diagnosed with depression and medicated in his early teens and as with most people, found the medication never worked. He later developed anxiety after bouts with drug and alcohol problems. Yoga took all that away, this is the main reason One Big Heart exists. We help people with depression, anxiety, PTSD and many of psychological trauma’s on a daily basis.
Yin Yoga
Welcome to ultimate relaxation and injury recovery. Stroll in, lay down and don’t stand up for the next hour.
Yin yoga will open your body and your mind to the idea of being gentle and opening up.
Great for those living a fast paced life that really need some chill time.
Benefits
For the most part our physical structure holds tension based on our stress levels. In the practice of Yin, you will come in, sit down and not stand up for the next hour. The approach in Yin Yoga is gentle (not forcing) but letting gravity do the work overtime while your muscle spindles unwind and your body opens.
Learn to regulate your stress levels as you rest into each pose for 5’ish minutes and let things really slow down. The practice of yin is renowned for its grounding qualities, like a complete nervous system reset. Students report that sleep patterns improve drastically with Yin.

Meditation
Meditation isn’t about becoming a different person, a new person, or even a better person. It’s about training your awareness and gaining healthy perspective on your life.
You’re not trying to turn off your thoughts or feelings. You’re learning to observe them without judgment.
And eventually, let them go so you provide space for new thought and realisation.
Benefits
Many people think they can’t meditate. We educate on what meditation really is, each night you will be taught a technique and then guided through that single technique. Over time you will find methods that work best for you and learn how to meditate by yourself, without guidance, without apps.
The reason most people find meditation hard is because we think it’s about stopping our thoughts. It’s actually not. Thoughts will come and thoughts will go and meditation teaches us which ones to listen too and which ones to let go of.
Things that fire together, wire together and this is very true of the nodes within your brain hence the reason we get stuck in thought patterns and over time they create us stress, worry, anger, sadness and dis-ease. Over time this leads to disease. We use meditation to release those things that are troubling us and then provide space to focus on that which serves us.
You will be given time to journal your experience ask questions, by doing so you get to reflect and watch your progress grow.
